Alarmed Day Minders (an Extras Package Exclusive)

This is a super-cool feature! It allows you to repeat reminders at frequent  intervals for a certain length of time. As in start at 9:00, repeat  every 45 minutes and keep doing so for 8 hours.

  • Get up and stretch
  • Drink some water
  • Take medicine
  • Reflect on the wonders of being alive
  • Many more uses

General Info

  • Auto Complete. This is the default setting and will automatically  advance to the next scheduled time without your having to tap on the  "done" checkbox. When the last DayMinder repeat of the day has taken  place, it will show as a past due reminder for you to check off. If  auto-complete is OFF, it will reschedule based on the current time  rather than the last due time. As an example, consider a DayMinder that  repeats every hour from 9 to 5. With auto-complete ON, it will repeat at  10, 11, 12 and so on. With auto-complete OFF, if it alerts you at 9,  but you don't mark it completed until 9:30, the next reminder will be  scheduled for 10:30. Regardless, it will stop at 5:00 PM.
  • Repeating DayMinders. You can use the Repeat / Repeat Through options along with DayMinders!
  • SuperUser  mode. By default, the shortest repeat interval you can set is 30  minutes. If this doesn't suit your needs, you can enable the SuperUser  mode in Settings | By Alarm Type and all restrictions will be removed.  If you enable this mode, be sure to understand the limitations outlined  below.
  • Turning off the alert message (sound only) can be very useful with DayMinders!
  • Limitations:  Due to an operating system restriction on the number of alerts which  may be scheduled, be careful not to abuse this feature. Don't turn on  SuperUser mode and set a DayMinder to repeat every minute for 8 hours.  If Alarmed determines that you've reached the limit of scheduled alerts,  you'll get an alert prompting you to enter Alarmed for rescheduling  purposes.

Examples

To  create a DayMinder to get up and stretch every 30 minutes during work  hours (e.g., from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), set up as follows:

  • Create a new reminder and set it to start at 9:00 AM. Set this time  even if it is in the past, so the DayMinder will always start at the  correct time. It will jump to the next event regardless of the current  time when you complete the entry.
  • Tap on Super Reminder > DayMinder. Set Repeat Every to 30 minutes, For to 8 hours and leave Auto-Complete ON.
  • This  is a perfect sort of reminder to be sound-only (just a short beep), so  you might want to turn off the Alert Message in the Super Reminder  options.
  • Set the regular Repeat options as you wish (e.g., on weekdays).

To create a DayMinder to take medicine every 8 hours for 3 days, set up as follows:

  • Create a new reminder and set it to start at 12:00 AM (midnight), even if this is in the past.
  • Tap on Super Reminder > DayMinder. Set Repeat Every to 8 hours, For to 23 hours and leave Auto-Complete ON.
  • Set the regular Repeat options to every 1 day.
  • Set Repeat Thru to 3 days from the start date.
  • Note  that this is a special case. DayMinders are designed to fit within a  regular calendar day and not wrap across days. Thus, to create a  DayMinder that repeats every X hours continuously, it must be an even  divisor of 24. In other words, you can setup such a DayMinder for every 3  hours (8 times a day), every 12 hours (twice a day), etc.

To create a DayMinder drink water 1 hour after the last time you drank water, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, set up as follows:

  • Create a new reminder and set it to start at 9:00 AM. Set this time  even if it is in the past, so the DayMinder will always start at the  correct time. It will jump to the next event regardless of the current  time when you complete the entry.
  • Tap on Super Reminder > DayMinder. Set Repeat Every to 1 hour, For to 8 hours and turn Auto-Complete OFF.
  • By  leaving Auto-Complete OFF, the next DayMinder will not be scheduled  until after you mark the previous one as completed. So if you get busy  and don't drink your first glass of water until 9:35, then the next  DayMinder would be at 10:35.
  • Set the regular Repeat options as you wish (e.g., on weekdays).
